Zoya – Aurora stamped with MASH #46

Of course I couldn’t leave my new stamping plates alone, after one day of wearing Zoya Aurora by itself I decided I want to stamp it as well. First I thought I would stamp all nails but then I changed my mind because this polish is too beautiful to cover it all up. I chose a simple and elegant flowery pattern and stamped my thumb and ring finger nails on both hands with Manhattan Liquid metals LE silver polish 101Z. The images are way bigger than my nails so I had to improvise how to place the pattern on my nail. The stamping was super easy, these Mash plates are amazing! The first image I stamped was crisp and perfect, so was the second one, my lack of stamping skills then showed in my third and fourth attempt and I had to somehow re-stamp on the existing image – it turned out great anyway. Unfortunately there was no sun when I took these first pictures:

As I’ve mentioned in the previous post, I had no time to change this manicure during the week, but I really didn’t want to change it anyway (even today I’m still wearing it!). The last days have been sunnier so yesterday I took more photos of the same manicure (mind you, 7 days old!!) in the sun:

I think the pictures have done all the talking. Zoya Aurora is just great and so are the MASH stamping plates.

In my previous post I showed you my new Fleur de Santé polish Sparkling Pink. The sparkling was so pretty I didn’t want to take it off (it’s still on my nails btw), so I decided to stamp it with my brand new Red Angel stamping plates I got from USA (I will show my USA haul in a separate post). The stamping polish is Konad Princess Violet Pearl. Let’s just get to it, pictures speak louder than words! ;)

Umetna svetloba:

Artificial lighting:

Because we managed to get some sun in this winter, I captured some sparkling in the sun (btw I took these photos in the sun after wearing the polish for four days, today it’s the fifth day and there is absolutely no chipping, minimal tipwear is shown just on two nails – you can see they have grown a little bit in the meantime):

Rahlo me skrbi, da se bom morala fajn potrudit, da ga odstranim ;)

I’m a little bit worried I’ll have to work hard to get it off ;)

2013!!!

Happy New Year everybody!! I really want to thank you all for checking in, reading my blog and commenting, somehow I feel like I “know” some of you =) I’m glad I’m not doing this writing just for myself ^ ^ My 2012 was really amazing, it continued a great streak from 2011, my life turned a way I had previously only dreamed about – so please, dare to dream, it can come true =))) Yes the dream is exhausting and it takes up so much of my time (it’s like a second job), but the rewards, man, the rewards are sooooo worth it! =)))) And on top of that, 2012 brought the birth of my blog and many many many new nail polishes! ;))

Speaking of which, it’s time to show you what I’ve been wearing on New Year’s Eve. My manicure was more wintery than glamorous, but I really wanted to play with some of my new polishes and I wanted to do something special, some kind of nail art and not just simply applying polish. So I started with this goooooorgeous new Kiko 336 I bought in Germany – I think it deserves two photos:

IMG_7078

IMG_7079

It’s a fabulous substitute for P2 Gigantic =P The formula is amazing, it’s completely opaque in two layers and it dries fast, I’m in love =))

I used this Kiko as my basis, I then took a nail stamp plate and stamped two snowflakes on my ring finger, one white (Essence Stamp me white) and one silver (Manhattan LE Liquid metals). With an older Ingrid sparkling white polish (originally destined for french manicure) I sponged snow on the tips of my nails – it was the first time I ever used a sponge, yes, that’s how fresh I still am at this =P It’s not that perfect but I was pleased. Here’s what it looked like:

IMG_7086
 IMG_7087

As if that wasn’t enough, I wanted to have something more, I used a P2 Holo top coat to spice it up (LOL now I see written on it “glamurous finish” – I guess I was a little bit glamurous ;))) the end result was this:

IMG_7092

IMG_7096

I’m so happy I got to do this, I had such fun doing it =))) Unfortunately the white Ingrid polish turned out to be too old or something because it never thoroughly dried (Better than gel top coat couldn’t save it) and it got smudged the next day… =( At least I get to observe photos if nothing else…. ;) Thank you for checking this out, I’d be happy to read any comments if you have them! =)

NOTD: Gilded

Twilight – the saga I know (almost) nothing about and something that interests me like dust on a shelf. However, every year it brings about Essence’s awesome trend editions and this year’s was no exception! I thought I was going to buy all four polishes, but somehow sanity kicked in when I was at the stand and I left one shade (!) on the shelf – Edward’s love just seemed too much like last years Hunt me if you can (and I’ve read about that before, but was certain I was going to get it anyway). So this is how I became a proud owner of three new polishes from Essence’s Breaking Dawn Trend Edition (I also bought the lipstick, love that shimmer!).

The problem was, I was so in love with the Maybelline Colorama 145 I showed you in my last post, I didn’t want to take it off just yet. And since I’ve read that the golden A piece of forever polish from Breaking Dawn was good for stamping, I once again pulled out my Kand nail plate CK-04 that I got from Born Pretty Store. Here are the results:

And the last photo was taken in the daylight:

You can see I wanted to have both polishes in my hand, boy it gave me trouble, LOL! :D But I love that combination!

Kand nail plate CK-04: take #3

This is my third take on Kand nail plate CK-04, I really like this plate. The base was P2 Blue’s brothers polish and I stamped with Konad special Princess stamping polish Blue Pearl. Here’s what I came up with:

IMG_5981

IMG_5962

IMG_5976

IMG_5964

Again I had to stamp my thumb twice, but that doesn’t bother me at all. :) The funny thing I noticed while stamping twice with this Konad polish – when I stamped the first time, the pattern transfered to my nail, but it also stayed on the stamper as well, so I tried to reuse it and I pressed it the second time – the second stamping was more vivid in color, so wierd! I’m thinking, thinner coats of polish on the plate showed more vividness on nails… I have to remember that for the next time. Also, I’ve put top coat on my right pinky, but because it dulled the pattern, I haven’t put it on any other nails. Of course that meant that after 4-5 days the unprotected pattern rubbed away, but I was ready for another manicure anyway. :)

I know my stamping is still not perfect, but practice helps :) Do you like it?

Kand nail plate CK-04: take #2

I played with my new stamping plate from Born Pretty Store again, the base polish is P2 My place or yours? and for stamping I used Essence nail art magnetics 01 Miracle shine. I smudged the design a little bit on some fingers at the beginning of stamping, but I got a hang of it after stamping about three fingers. Later on I actually liked it like that (see the pinky of my left hand), but I was also lazy and had no time to obsess with perfection at night, that’s why I was ok with it not being perfect. But if you have a problem with stampings not being 100%, just skip this post ;) (btw, a colleague of mine has a saying, “there is emptiness in perfection” ;))

Left hand:

IMG_5906

Right hand:

IMG_5911

I don’t exactly know where I was looking when I stamped the middle finger of my right hand, I missed the center totally :D But then I just filled the bald spot in with the other side of the stamp, so the pattern is a actually cut in half. And again, I liked it. :) The patterns are just big enough for my small nails, I actually managed to place the pattern on my left thumb in dead center of the nail and it was big enough. However I wasn’t as precise on my right hand thumb so I had to stamp it twice.

You can find this plate here: 42 Cute Patterns Quadrate Nail Art Stamp Template CK-04 http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html and here’s my review of it – click. Kand nail plate CK-04: take #1

I could hardly wait to take time to try the Kand nail plate from Born pretty store, but indeed I had to wait because of all of my responsibilities I had. In the end, the time had come and here is what I wore! :)

I started with Essence Show Your Feet polish Pop Pastel Blue. I had a bit of a problem with it, but I’m starting to realize it is another one of those issues of the color – just like a creme yellow, it’s hard to apply it evenly and not streaky. (my first try was actually with a light blue S-he polish and it ended up horribly, maybe I’ll put pictures on my blog some other time)

IMG_5841 IMG_5843

I’ve read somewhere, that Essence Gleam In Blue was a good polish for stamping, so I chose that one. I realize that my stamping skills are not perfect (yet!) ;) but here’s what I ended up with:

IMG_5848  IMG_5845
I know that the black polish made for stamping left a prettier pattern (more precise), but I really liked this manicure nevertheless. Of course I didn’t stop here, I couldn’t resist putting matte top coat on…

IMG_5849 IMG_5852
…and so I liked it even more! :))

I’d be happy if you used my code in Born Pretty Store, the offer of 10% off still stands. :) This is the plate I used: 42 Cute Patterns Quadrate Nail Art Stamp Template CK-04 http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html and here’s my review of it - click

Kand nail stamping image plate CK-04 review

Hello! I finally have time to write a new post on my blog! :))) I’m so happy about that, because I’ve got something great to show to you ;)

As you know from my previous post, I got contacted by Born Pretty store, an internet nail art retailer. They’ve asked me to review a product for them so they sent me what I longed for for some time now – a Kand nail stamping image plate CK-04! It only took 10 days for the package to arrive to Slovenia!

IMG_5740

Other than a bump in the corner the plate was intact and was protected by a blue plastic film which had to be taken off before you could use it:

IMG_5743

And here’s what it looks like:

IMG_5744

I’m sorry, but I had to take the photo at an angle, otherwise the plate would mirror my camera ;)

After I peeled off the blue film it was time to try it out! :) I only had a short amount of time to do it, so I chose to stamp all the designs on a piece of paper and here you can see what they look like:

IMG_5748

I’m so happy I have this, I had no trouble using it except for the very first pattern which has finer lines, but I handled that one as well. The plate is nicely engraved and I can’t wait to use it on my nails (by the way – I find it much easier to stamp designs on nails than on paper for the surface of the nail is much smaller and on paper every bit of excess polish gets shown if you are not careful ;)).

There is one important thing about these Kand plates that the blogger community keeps talking about – the size of these designs. Yes, they are small, but my nails are small and quite short most of the time, I don’t think I’ll have any problems with the size (ok, maybe I’ll have to stamp my thumb nail twice). I only remembered to take a photo of the patterns next to a ruler after I started writing the post ;) so here it is:

IMG_5751

Here is the link to the image plate: http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html Thank you Born Pretty store! :)))

If you like this or any other product on their page, the offer on the 10% discount for my readers still stands, just use the code “CHL91” :)

Do you like it? I know I love it! :) Take care ‘till next time and thanks for reading! :)

Bourjois 10 days nr. 19 manicure + stamping

Hello! :)

For today's manicure I chose the Bourjois 10 days polish number 19. I have two shades from this Bourjois collection, but I have to say, I don't like the special brush. I'm really clumsy with it :/ But I really like the shades, so the brushes won't keep me from using them :) Sooooo.... here are the pictures:

First two with flash:

And one without it:

I cannot believe what my camera does to the color... it is so hard to catch an accurate shade :/ I also used an Essence Better than gel nails top sealer, which I really like, but the brush has some bristles that stick out and it sometimes streaks my nails... sorry, I'll take care of it!

Anyway, I didn't want to end my manicure here, so I got my stamping equipment out :PP

Here is the end result:

I have to say, at first I was not really pleased with it, but then I got used to it. Trial and error is one way of learning ;)

I stamped a few layers, the first layer of pansies was done with Essence Circus Circus LE polish nr. 04 Cotton candy. On it I stamped different flowers with Konad Princess special polish Violet pearl and for the top layer I stamped a butterfly with Essence stamp me silver. For the stamping top coat I always use the Barry M 3 in 1 polish, it's the best in my experience, it doesn't ruin the stampings.

It's not perfect, but I like it :)

Thanks for checking it out, have fun until next time! ;)
