Sleek i-Divine Vintage Romance palette – ocena paletke senčil

Eeeeverybody is talking about it. Do I NEED it? Of course not, I own 7 other Sleek palettes already, with all the other brands, I certainly don’t NEED more make-up. Granted, Sleek palettes are the ones I use the most – the cheapest and most pigmented in this low price range. And when Anja from Slovenian internet drugstore Moja Drogerija offered a special price of Sleek palettes to some of us bloggers, I couldn’t resist the temptation and ordered two, Vintage Romance which I am reviewing today, and Ultra Mattes Darks V2 which I will review some other time.

Nekaj slik izpod luči:

Here are photos taken under artificial light:

Tako pa paleta izgleda na dnevni svetlobi:

And here’s another photo of it in the daylight:

IMG_8780
Slikala sem tudi posamezne sence, v zgornji vrsti si sledijo “Pretty in Paris”…

I also took some shots of individual shades, starting with the top row here is “Pretty in Paris”…

IMG_8785
…”Meet in Madrid”…

IMG_8787
…”Court in Cannes”…

IMG_8788
…”Lust in LA”…

IMG_8791
…”Romance in Rome”…

IMG_8792
…”Propose in Prague”

IMG_8775

V drugi vrsti so “A Vow in Venice”…

And in the second row we have “A Vow in Venice”…

IMG_8783
…”Marry in Monte Carlo”…

IMG_8786
…”Honeymoon in Hollywood”…

IMG_8789
…”Bliss in Barcelona”…

IMG_8770
…”Forever in Florence”…

IMG_8768
…zadnja pa se imenuje “Love in London” (tik preden sem slikala, sem opazila, da mi je vanjo padla trepalnica… seveda sem jo morala izbrskati ven… =/)

…and the last one is called “Love in London” (right before taking this photo I saw I dropped an eyelash into it… of course I had to dig it out… =/)

IMG_8772

Na spodnji sliki so vzorci odtenkov ali po domače “swatchi” zgornje vrste palete brez baze (ne vem zakaj, ampak Blogger mi z objavo tole sliko povsem popači =/  - POPRAVLJENO! =))):

And here are the swatches I made with no primer, top row (for some reason Blogger keeps distorting this photo =/ - EDITED! =)))):

…sledijo odtenki spodnje vrste:

…and bottom row:

IMG_8953

Some of the shades are more pigmented than others but as far as I am concerned Sleek did it again! My oily eyelids require wearing a primer underneath the eyeshadows, but that makes the colors pop even more! The colors are generally perfect for fall but versatile enough to wear throughout the year and I love the different finishes eyeshadows have, from velvety, shimmery, to matte. Like all Sleek palettes this one too produces fallout, but I don’t mind that, when/if I wear foundation, I apply it after doing my eye make up. I’m having a blast using this and other Sleek palettes so I would definitely recommend Sleek to anyone – this palette is Limited Edition though so if you like it, get it while you can. Slovenian readers can get it here.

Koliko Sleek palet pa ve posedujete? ;)

How many Sleek palettes do you own? ;)

Zoya – Aurora stamped with MASH #46

Of course I couldn’t leave my new stamping plates alone, after one day of wearing Zoya Aurora by itself I decided I want to stamp it as well. First I thought I would stamp all nails but then I changed my mind because this polish is too beautiful to cover it all up. I chose a simple and elegant flowery pattern and stamped my thumb and ring finger nails on both hands with Manhattan Liquid metals LE silver polish 101Z. The images are way bigger than my nails so I had to improvise how to place the pattern on my nail. The stamping was super easy, these Mash plates are amazing! The first image I stamped was crisp and perfect, so was the second one, my lack of stamping skills then showed in my third and fourth attempt and I had to somehow re-stamp on the existing image – it turned out great anyway. Unfortunately there was no sun when I took these first pictures:

As I’ve mentioned in the previous post, I had no time to change this manicure during the week, but I really didn’t want to change it anyway (even today I’m still wearing it!). The last days have been sunnier so yesterday I took more photos of the same manicure (mind you, 7 days old!!) in the sun:

I think the pictures have done all the talking. Zoya Aurora is just great and so are the MASH stamping plates.

NOTD: Butler please crackle some star dust

I know, I know, it’s not really original, but after a week of not enough sleep and working all days my brain wouldn’t come up with anything better for a title. I just wanted to post again since I am not doing it regularly. In my last post I reviewed my first Essie, thought it was bad and I couldn’t leave it just like that. I am now a proud owner of gazillion new polishes I bought in Germany and it was time to try some more of them out. ;)

I had my eyes on Misslyn Star dust top coat from Future Glam collection for quite some time but had the misfortune of always getting to an empty rack in Slovenia. Now it’s mine! =P Of course my camera had a mind of it’s own regarding colors again (it was much prettier in RL), but check this beauty out!

Oh the sparkling!

…and later I added a purple P2 Crackle polish on my ring fingernail:

Sure, crackles may be out of style now, but I still like them. What do you think?

My first Essie

Or rather – my first Essie disappointment. I was in a drugstore in Germany and there was an Essie rack with Essie Winter Collection. It was not full, but I saw a gorgeous blue polish named Butler please and I thought to myself, I have a job now, I can afford to buy a higher priced polish if I want to. I don’t want to splurge too much though because I know my addiction to polishes would cost me much more if I went off buying expensive polishes like I do the cheap ones. But I can treat myself occasionally with a bottle or two! ;)

Then came the time to try it on! …and then I was disheartened. The formula… awful. The application was streaky, I couldn’t even it out, it kept on bubbling like crazy… I don’t know how many layers of it I’ve put on for it to be decent. And I wasn’t happy at all. Too much trouble and still not a pretty application. Too bad, because the color is just perfect. It dried in a weird finish, semi matte plastic or what would I call it. I kind of like that, but the formula is just bad.

IMG_6748

IMG_6749

My advice – if you see it on the rack, don’t buy it. It’s just not worth the money (I think it was 7€?) and the troubles, no matter how beautiful this color is. All that glitters is not gold – not even Essie.

NOTD: Gilded

Twilight – the saga I know (almost) nothing about and something that interests me like dust on a shelf. However, every year it brings about Essence’s awesome trend editions and this year’s was no exception! I thought I was going to buy all four polishes, but somehow sanity kicked in when I was at the stand and I left one shade (!) on the shelf – Edward’s love just seemed too much like last years Hunt me if you can (and I’ve read about that before, but was certain I was going to get it anyway). So this is how I became a proud owner of three new polishes from Essence’s Breaking Dawn Trend Edition (I also bought the lipstick, love that shimmer!).

The problem was, I was so in love with the Maybelline Colorama 145 I showed you in my last post, I didn’t want to take it off just yet. And since I’ve read that the golden A piece of forever polish from Breaking Dawn was good for stamping, I once again pulled out my Kand nail plate CK-04 that I got from Born Pretty Store. Here are the results:

And the last photo was taken in the daylight:

You can see I wanted to have both polishes in my hand, boy it gave me trouble, LOL! :D But I love that combination!

NOTD: Essence Class of 2013 TE Rules of being cool

Hy all! It seems to me it has been such a long time since I last posted but my schedule keeps being crazy. There are too many things I want to do besides my work and there isn’t enough time to do them all. I still try to find time to paint my nails though since I do realize I have a true nail polish obsession… :P

Today I’m showing you a piece from Essence’s Trend edition Class of 2013, Rules of being cool. Even though I have a polish addiction I’ve been feeling a little bit bombarded with all the trend editions in the last month. I can’t believe what I’m about to say – I feel there is too much of everything.

I know there are still some stores you can get this one in Slovenia. Here’s what it looked like on me:

IMG_6248w

IMG_6254w

I know the photos are not the best, but being at work everyday means rarely getting any daylight for taking pictures.

I really like this dusty periwinkle color, but the application was a bit patchy (just like pastel blues) and I had to be aware of that to even it out.

Did you get anything from this TE?

NOTD: Urban Orange meets The Huntsman

Hy all! Today I’m showing you another orangy manicure I wore, it is Maybelline Mini Colorama 105 Urban Orange and my ring finger is topped with Essence Snow White’s LE The Huntsman:

I love these kind of shimmery orange polishes! :))) This manicure is kind of similar to my previous one (click), I think it’s great for the Halloween era we have right now ;)

Thanks for reading! :)

NOTD: Catrice Wild, Wild West-side + Essence Make It Golden

Hey hey, I am sorry, but I have a crazy time schedule at the moment, so I had to prepare a few posts upfront with some of my past manicures I wasn’t able to publish yet. I hope you enjoy my posts, and I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding! :)

I was so in love with my Catrice Wild, Wild West-side polish (see photos of it in my previous post) I didn’t want to take it off for a while. But to make things more special, I decided to put Essence Make It Golden on top. Here’s the end result:

Orange and golden make a beautiful combination in my opinion…. <3

Thanks for checking it out! :)

NOTD: Catrice Wild, Wild West-side polish - Upper Wild Side LE

Hey hey, I am sorry, but I have a crazy time schedule at the moment, so I had to prepare a few posts upfront with some of my past manicures I wasn’t able to publish yet. I hope you enjoy my posts, and I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding! :)

I bought this polish about a month ago, just at the time when I saw an Oooh, Shinies’ post on new Cirque All Hallow’s Eve Kabocha polish. Since Cirque is a bit out of reach for me and Catrice was right there, I bought the latter. It’s definitely not a dupe, but I don’t care, I like it! It has a “suede effect” finish so I didn’t put any top coat on.

A few photos under artificial light/flash:

Daylight:

And in the sun:

I don’t know why but all of a sudden I’m really into orange, I love this kind of pumpkin like color (and I never liked it before). It was two coats, no difficulties, although I’m not yet used to the really broad brush Catrice has now.

Besides this orange polish I also took the brown shimmery one from this collection. Did anyone else get anything from this Upper Wild Side LE?
