My Christmas Day mani – Wine Shimmer Colorama

Hello my dear readers! I know it’s been a while since I actually posted a manicure and that I’ve been absent a lot lately, but that doesn’t mean I forgot about you (or your blogs, dear fellow bloggers!). There is a reason I had no time to post anything, of course work is a big factor and takes up a lot of my time (thank god I have a job btw!), but I also had a lot of business trips to Germany in the last two months. I am very happy to say that even though it was mostly very busy and we had just a little free time to go about, I was able to visit some Germany’s drug stores and buy me some cosmetic goodies (wooohooooooooo! :))))))). Now I can’t wait to try them out and show them to you! ;)

Now that it’s Christmas time I am enjoying a week off work :) I had to work on Monday so there was no special mani for Christmas Eve (during the day it was just another day of being in a hurry), but I had time to do it on Christmas Day, yaaaaay! :))) I finally chose to try one of the gorgeous beauties I bought a month ago and I haven’t seen it sold in Slovenia yet – a Maybelline Colorama 265 Wine Shimmer. It’s a beautiful red jelly packed with small holographic glitter – perfect for Christmas!

Check this beauty out! :)

I have to say, my camera had trouble picking up the right color, the most color accurate photo may be the last one, but the brightness is more accurate on first photos - it’s a bright deep red. Here I have three coats – not necessary for coverage, two is enough, but with two the color is lighter (and the reason I have three is I messed up one finger and had to put on the third coat – but then the difference in color showed so I had to even that out). I don’t know how the VNL comes up in the photos, in real life it is not visible unless you really really try hard to look for it.

The formula is great, it dries nicely, the only minus is that my tips were worn off from the beginning – but that may be due to my Essence better than gel nails top sealer shrinking it. I love how it shines and the depth it has being a jelly with glitters shining in different layers. I love it! :)

I hope all of you had a warm and happy Christmas with your families! :)

NOTD: Gilded

Twilight – the saga I know (almost) nothing about and something that interests me like dust on a shelf. However, every year it brings about Essence’s awesome trend editions and this year’s was no exception! I thought I was going to buy all four polishes, but somehow sanity kicked in when I was at the stand and I left one shade (!) on the shelf – Edward’s love just seemed too much like last years Hunt me if you can (and I’ve read about that before, but was certain I was going to get it anyway). So this is how I became a proud owner of three new polishes from Essence’s Breaking Dawn Trend Edition (I also bought the lipstick, love that shimmer!).

The problem was, I was so in love with the Maybelline Colorama 145 I showed you in my last post, I didn’t want to take it off just yet. And since I’ve read that the golden A piece of forever polish from Breaking Dawn was good for stamping, I once again pulled out my Kand nail plate CK-04 that I got from Born Pretty Store. Here are the results:

And the last photo was taken in the daylight:

You can see I wanted to have both polishes in my hand, boy it gave me trouble, LOL! :D But I love that combination!

If you like this stamping plate, you can get it here: 42 Cute Patterns Quadrate Nail Art Stamp Template CK-04 http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html and you can use my discount code CHL91

NOTD: New Maybelline Colorama 145

Hello my dear polishholics! First I have to apologize for not quickly responding to your dear comments on my past three posts, I scheduled them upfront and didn’t think to mention that (I’ll make sure to include that information in the future, just so you know) and couldn’t answer until I got back to Slovenia. But thank you thank you thank you all for your comments, it really means a lot to me! <3

Today I have such an amazing polish to show to you, perfect for autumn! I was curious what the new polishes from Maybelline Colorama are like so I bought this beautiful red shade with golden shimmer. I wear red so rarely, I’m definitely a pink kind of girl (mostly because I don’t have a fashion sense at all and so combining different clothes gives me a headache, even more so when it comes to red vs. pink – so much easier to stick to just one and not to think about it too much… not really proud of that though or pleased with either, maybe I’ll have to change that… =/ ). OK, here are the photos!

The first one is taken under the direct artificial light (and I think this is what it would look like under the sunlight):

And the second one just under the plain light in my room which gave it a more brownish shade (kind of like in the shade =D):

I had no trouble with the application, the polish dried quickly, I painted it in two layers. The new bottles contain 7ml whereas the old ones had 7,5ml of polish, the price however I think is the same, a little less than 3€.

Check out the color and the golden shimmer! Isn’t it just gorgeous! Man, I have to wear red more often! =)))

Have you also bought any new Colorama polishes yet, do you like them?

Thanks for reading! =)

NOTD: Urban Orange meets The Huntsman

Hy all! Today I’m showing you another orangy manicure I wore, it is Maybelline Mini Colorama 105 Urban Orange and my ring finger is topped with Essence Snow White’s LE The Huntsman:

I love these kind of shimmery orange polishes! :))) This manicure is kind of similar to my previous one (click), I think it’s great for the Halloween era we have right now ;)

Thanks for reading! :)

Skittles manicure for Make Up Store Lava

Hy everyone! :) I know I said I’m gonna make some stampings with my brand new Kand plate and I will, don’t worry. :) It’s just that I had to test something else before that, because skittles manicure is not really work appropriate, and Kand stamping is, I chose to do skittles first.

When I was in Sweden in August, as usual on any trips, I wanted to get a nail polish souvenir. It means more to me than buying a picture or an object representing local sights and then just collects dust in my room. I take personal pictures of local sights on my own anyway and more importantly, I carry the memories with me all the time. The problem was, Sweden is so darn expensive. Nevertheless, I couldn’t resist buying a beautiful polish by Make Up Store named Lava, especially since it was on the rack of 50% off – it “only” cost me 60 Swedish Crowns (that was 7,29€). For someone that is used to buying low budget polishes that is a lot – but it was well worth it! :) (I have to add, I’ve been to Sweden before and I bought a polish from Make Up Store before, but it was the time when I was in a black polish phase, and now I can’t believe I spent more than 14€ on a black polish with silver shimmer that is as ordinary as any other polish of that color… – true, I wasn’t buying polishes as often as I do now.)

Enough talking, check out the Lava!

The polishes I used from thumb to pinky are:

  • Essence Twins 07 Chuck (blue creme)
  • Essence Twins 08 Gabriella (purple creme with blue shimmer)

And here are the photos of the result!

I particularly like the effect it has on brown, green, teal, purple and blue! :)

What do you think, do you like flakies?
