Kand nail plate CK-04: take #1

I could hardly wait to take time to try the Kand nail plate from Born pretty store, but indeed I had to wait because of all of my responsibilities I had. In the end, the time had come and here is what I wore! :)

I started with Essence Show Your Feet polish Pop Pastel Blue. I had a bit of a problem with it, but I’m starting to realize it is another one of those issues of the color – just like a creme yellow, it’s hard to apply it evenly and not streaky. (my first try was actually with a light blue S-he polish and it ended up horribly, maybe I’ll put pictures on my blog some other time)

I’ve read somewhere, that Essence Gleam In Blue was a good polish for stamping, so I chose that one. I realize that my stamping skills are not perfect (yet!) ;) but here’s what I ended up with:

I know that the black polish made for stamping left a prettier pattern (more precise), but I really liked this manicure nevertheless. Of course I didn’t stop here, I couldn’t resist putting matte top coat on…

…and so I liked it even more! :))

I’d be happy if you used my code in Born Pretty Store, the offer of 10% off still stands. :) This is the plate I used: 42 Cute Patterns Quadrate Nail Art Stamp Template CK-04 http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html and here’s my review of it - click

Vollare cosmetics Joy polishes – yay or nay? Joy 244 shimmery yellow

Hey hey, I am sorry, but I have a crazy time schedule at the moment, so I had to prepare a few posts upfront with some of my past manicures I wasn’t able to publish yet. I hope you enjoy my posts, and I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding! :)

When the feeling of summer was slipping away and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to it yet, I searched for a beautiful shimmery yellow polish. I couldn’t find any shade that I liked until the cheap Joy polish found me in the store, it cost less than a Euro. I was so happy I found the perfect color for me, I don’t really like the creamy yellow on my nails. :P Here’s the photo of the bottle:

IMG_5837

Because I don’t have the time during the week anymore to sit down and spend hours doing my manicure, waiting for the polish to dry, I put it on before going to sleep – it was the only time I had and I really wanted to wear it. By the time the polish on my right hand was touch dry, I tested my left hand and just a light touch made it slip away from my nail completely. :/ I pushed it back on, but then I had to go to bed, I was losing the precious time to sleep as it was, even though on the other hand I was worried what my manicure would look like after a whole night of sleep.

IMG_5658

To my surprise I woke up and other than that middle finger disaster from the past night all the other nails remained perfect! Now I am puzzled, do I like these cheap polishes or not? I had a bad experience before, but this yellow was just the one I was looking for…

What are your experiences with these cheap Vollare polishes?

NOTD: Catrice Wild, Wild West-side + Essence Make It Golden

Hey hey, I am sorry, but I have a crazy time schedule at the moment, so I had to prepare a few posts upfront with some of my past manicures I wasn’t able to publish yet. I hope you enjoy my posts, and I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding! :)

I was so in love with my Catrice Wild, Wild West-side polish (see photos of it in my previous post) I didn’t want to take it off for a while. But to make things more special, I decided to put Essence Make It Golden on top. Here’s the end result:

Orange and golden make a beautiful combination in my opinion…. <3

Thanks for checking it out! :)

NOTD: Catrice Wild, Wild West-side polish - Upper Wild Side LE

Hey hey, I am sorry, but I have a crazy time schedule at the moment, so I had to prepare a few posts upfront with some of my past manicures I wasn’t able to publish yet. I hope you enjoy my posts, and I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding! :)

I bought this polish about a month ago, just at the time when I saw an Oooh, Shinies’ post on new Cirque All Hallow’s Eve Kabocha polish. Since Cirque is a bit out of reach for me and Catrice was right there, I bought the latter. It’s definitely not a dupe, but I don’t care, I like it! It has a “suede effect” finish so I didn’t put any top coat on.

A few photos under artificial light/flash:

And in the sun:

I don’t know why but all of a sudden I’m really into orange, I love this kind of pumpkin like color (and I never liked it before). It was two coats, no difficulties, although I’m not yet used to the really broad brush Catrice has now.

Besides this orange polish I also took the brown shimmery one from this collection. Did anyone else get anything from this Upper Wild Side LE?

Skittles manicure for Make Up Store Lava

Hy everyone! :) I know I said I’m gonna make some stampings with my brand new Kand plate and I will, don’t worry. :) It’s just that I had to test something else before that, because skittles manicure is not really work appropriate, and Kand stamping is, I chose to do skittles first.

When I was in Sweden in August, as usual on any trips, I wanted to get a nail polish souvenir. It means more to me than buying a picture or an object representing local sights and then just collects dust in my room. I take personal pictures of local sights on my own anyway and more importantly, I carry the memories with me all the time. The problem was, Sweden is so darn expensive. Nevertheless, I couldn’t resist buying a beautiful polish by Make Up Store named Lava, especially since it was on the rack of 50% off – it “only” cost me 60 Swedish Crowns (that was 7,29€). For someone that is used to buying low budget polishes that is a lot – but it was well worth it! :) (I have to add, I’ve been to Sweden before and I bought a polish from Make Up Store before, but it was the time when I was in a black polish phase, and now I can’t believe I spent more than 14€ on a black polish with silver shimmer that is as ordinary as any other polish of that color… – true, I wasn’t buying polishes as often as I do now.)

Enough talking, check out the Lava!

WOW!

IMG_5759

Ah, the beauty! :)) I decided to make a skittles manicure to see which colors go best with it!

My right hand:

The polishes I used from pinky to thumb are:

  • Manhattan quick dry 1010N (black creme)
  • Pupa M165 (silver foil)
  • Giordani Gold Crimson (jelly red)
  • S-he stylezone 330 (brown creme)
  • Catrice Coolibri LE C05 Virgin Forest (shimmery bright green)

My left hand:

The polishes I used from thumb to pinky are:

  • Essence Twins 07 Chuck (blue creme)
  • Essence Twins 08 Gabriella (purple creme with blue shimmer)
  • Essence Twins 06 Bella (teal creme)
  • Maybelline Mini Colorama 105 Urban orange (orange with golden shimmer)
  • Maybelline Mini Colorama 100 Urban lemon (creme yellow)

And here are the photos of the result!

I particularly like the effect it has on brown, green, teal, purple and blue! :)

What do you think, do you like flakies?

Kand nail stamping image plate CK-04 review

Hello! I finally have time to write a new post on my blog! :))) I’m so happy about that, because I’ve got something great to show to you ;)

As you know from my previous post, I got contacted by Born Pretty store, an internet nail art retailer. They’ve asked me to review a product for them so they sent me what I longed for for some time now – a Kand nail stamping image plate CK-04! It only took 10 days for the package to arrive to Slovenia!

IMG_5740

Other than a bump in the corner the plate was intact and was protected by a blue plastic film which had to be taken off before you could use it:

IMG_5743

And here’s what it looks like:

IMG_5744

I’m sorry, but I had to take the photo at an angle, otherwise the plate would mirror my camera ;)

After I peeled off the blue film it was time to try it out! :) I only had a short amount of time to do it, so I chose to stamp all the designs on a piece of paper and here you can see what they look like:

IMG_5748

I’m so happy I have this, I had no trouble using it except for the very first pattern which has finer lines, but I handled that one as well. The plate is nicely engraved and I can’t wait to use it on my nails (by the way – I find it much easier to stamp designs on nails than on paper for the surface of the nail is much smaller and on paper every bit of excess polish gets shown if you are not careful ;)).

There is one important thing about these Kand plates that the blogger community keeps talking about – the size of these designs. Yes, they are small, but my nails are small and quite short most of the time, I don’t think I’ll have any problems with the size (ok, maybe I’ll have to stamp my thumb nail twice). I only remembered to take a photo of the patterns next to a ruler after I started writing the post ;) so here it is:

Here is the link to the image plate: http://www.bornprettystore.com/cute-patterns-french-nail-image-stamp-template-series-models-p-2573.html Thank you Born Pretty store! :)))
